Sitting at the heart of the Engine Yard, The Fuel Tank Kitchen spans the ground floor of the lovingly refurbished, historic site of the original water pumping station for Belvoir Castle. The gorgeous building was once the workshop for the joiners of Belvoir Castle holding the 20-tonne beam engine pump and it is now a family run Cafe, with extensive menu options and a placid atmosphere for you to enjoy.
As of September 7th 2022, Meadow Brown Restaurants, the family-owned catering firm now manages the Fuel Tank Café. Having already implemented delicious new menus, a pay from table system for all customers and a new management team to run the site, the future looks very positive, with it already reflecting in the number of 5 star reviews.
Visitors to the Engine Yard are spoilt for choice when it comes to their dining experiences at The Fuel Tank. With a range of scrumptious dishes, you can book a meal for any type of event. Below The Fuel Tank Café, we have the quirkiest bar in the county! You can gather all of your friends, get glammed up and head down to the Balloon Bar for an evening of escapism and fun. This balloon-filled basement bar is a brilliant backdrop for all your photographs and its cosy yet cosmopolitan atmosphere is the ideal place to try an adventurous cocktail or two.
Our cocktail menu showcases bespoke drinks such as View of the Vale, which includes a 10-year-old whisky, banana, cranberry and citrus, and the Duchess’ Garden made with sloe gin, blackberries and Belvoir Elderflower which is made on site.
If your taste buds are more aligned to a G&T, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the many specialist gins on offer, with utterly curious flavours including grapefruit + mint, basil + grapefruit, cucumber + rose and Melton Mowbray’s very own hibiscus + birch…
